I was looking over the VHSL stuff today and saw something I hadn't noticed before.

Even though the final vote is in May, the change would NOT go into effect immediately.
As presented, it's for the 2007 season.
Of course, someone may modify it to say 2006... you never know.

I figure it would be for the 07 season since that is the start of the new cycle

But why have an emergency vote on it if it's over a year until it goes into effect?
Usually, an EV is for something that needs to start immediately (like a change in the tie-breaker rules).

They say it's because the 2nd vote wouldn't be until December, and Fall is when the schedules are put together. Would this change the way you'd put together a schedule?

Never mind - I just got it. It <I>shouldn't</I>, but with the new alignments that will start in 2007, it will make a BIG difference... to those 4 schools that go from AA to AAA.

Geez.

That plus there are several teams with games scheduled for what would become the first week of the playoffs (Grundy vs Haysi to name one) some teams will need to rework things a bit
